Dodgeball Day 1

Fast and furious

The morning of dodgeball has seen balls flying and reflexes tested to their limits. Dodgeball was definitely the most exciting sport of the day, as all the teams played with great strength and teamwork.

A game worthy of mention here was the tense rival match between Orion and Pegasus, the two colleges from Clayton and Caulfield campus respectively.

Both Orion and Pegasus College are in their first year of establishement this year, so it was great to see both teams full of enthusiastic players giving dodgeball a go! Melissa, the College Advisor of Orion College said that, "Everyone is just having a go. We have never played dodgeball before but thought it would be fun."

The game went to a sudden death in the third set, with the scores level at 1 all. Both teams were eager to win claim glory for their college and campus.

In the third and final set, Pegasus had the upper hand with a 2 players left standing against the last man standing for Orion. In the final minutes of the set however, Orion managed a brilliant catch to win the match.

Monash Games Day 1

Netball - Futsal - Dodgeball

In support of Ronald McDonald House Monash

There has been a roaring start to day one of the Monash Games with netball in the Stadium, futsal in the Recreational Hall and dodgeball in the Games Hall. A lot of players are students from Clayton campus, although the games have also drawn in students from both the Caulfield and Gippsland campuses. 

The players have plenty of friends cheering them on and the sports halls are buzzing with excitement and competition. With championship titles and medals to be won at the end of the day, the fixtures will become more intense as the day moves on. Finals will be this afternoon for mixed netball, futsal and dodgeball and tomorrow teams will compete for titles in women's netball and basketball.
